OCPS principal selected as 2018 National Distinguished Principal for Florida
 
May 10, 2018 – Catalina Elementary School principal Seth Daub was selected as the 2018 National Distinguished Principal for Florida, sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education and National Association of Elementary and Middle School Principal (NAESP).
 
The National Distinguished Principals program was established to honor exemplary elementary and middle school principals who set the pace, character, and quality of the education children receive during their early school years.
 
Public school elementary and middle-level principals are nominated by their peers. The criteria for selection:
 
  • Practicing principal with at least five years’ experience 
  • Demonstrate evidence of outstanding contributions to the community and to the education profession
  • Lead a school that is clearly committed to excellence
  • School programs designed to meet the academic and social needs of all students, along with firm ties to parents and the community
 
Mr. Daub will be recognized in Washington, D.C. during the 2018 National Distinguished Principal event in October.
