DICK BATCHELOR FEATURED SPEAKER AT EAST ORLANDO CHAMBER’S ANNUAL LOCAL CHARITIES LUNCHEON

(ORLANDO, FL, November 2018)   On November 14th, Dick Batchelor, one of the best-known faces in Central Florida’s political arena and among advocates for children, will join the East Orlando Chamber to celebrate and recognize nine local charities for their outstanding work in the community.  He will share his vision for supporting the community through philanthropy and inspire attendees to follow his example supporting community good.

“This year we will not only showcase the good work of these organizations but give attendees and businesses a chance to “Adopt” each one to help further their mission through a more significant project or need of the organization”, says Andrew Cole, EOCC President & CEO.  A few examples of projects companies can “Adopt” are:

  • Health Council of Central Florida is seeking one or more cell-enabled iPad Pros for documentation and field work for community paramedics.
  • CRU is looking for donations to their “Boxes of Love” outreach program offering Thanksgiving meals to families of up to six in need.  They also seek a print partner to further their mission.
  • Cystic Fibrosis is looking for several items including non-perishable food items for their patients, 10 x 10 Tent, Convertible Hand Truck
  • Hands on Orlando needs professional Marketing support to raise awareness, recruit volunteers and secure financial support.

Sabrina Persaud, Chief Relationship Office with Nadini Printing & Marketing was inspired by the work of these organizations and expressed interest in getting involved.  “The Local Charities Luncheon is my chance to help others.  When I read about Hands on Orlando’s need for Marketing help, I realized this may be the perfect way to give back.  It is something I do every day” says Persaud. “I will speak with Kyle to get their specific needs seeing how I can help and garner assistance from my network.   It’s simply a great way to kick off the holiday season.”

As in the past, the annual “Giving Tree” will display 5 needs of each organization offering attendees a chance to support them in some way, either by fulfilling the request or with a monetary donation.  Some of the other organizations being highlighted this year are: Central Florida Boy Scouts; Chef’s Honor Guard; Bridges of Light; Foundation for Foster Care and Turning Point of Central Florida.

The East Orlando Chamber of Commerce Local Charities Luncheon is Wednesday, November 14, 2018 from 11:00 AM – 1:15 PM at the Holiday Inn East UCF area, 1724 N Alafaya Trail, Orlando, FL 32826.  Visit eocc.org or call 407-277-5951 to purchase tickets.
