Featuring Dr. Tim Hendrix and Dr. Sean McCann (AdventHealth)

This year’s flu season feels a bit different than the others. We’ve spent many months now managing the risks and challenges of COVID-19, only to have another virus to worry about. When it comes to avoiding the flu and COVID-19, it’s important to remember that we know what measures are most effective. Join us for a conversation with AdventHealth’s Dr. Tim Hendrix and Dr. Sean McCann as they discuss the difference between the flu and COVID-19, along with best practices to reduce you and your family’s risk of illness.

Dr. Timothy Hendrix, Medical Director of AdventHealth Centra Care
Timothy Hendrix, M.D., has served as medical director of AdventHealth Centra Care since 2004. He received his medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years. He specializes in family medicine. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, AdventHealth Centra Care has taken lead on external testing, management of health care partnerships with external businesses and employee health. As medical director, Dr. Hendrix supervises occupational health services, including keeping AdventHealth’s own employees in Florida safe during the pandemic.

Sean McCann, DO, is double-board certified in family medicine and obesity medicine and has been providing expert primary medical care to Central Florida residents since 2014. A proud graduate of the University of Florida, he earned his medical degree at Nova Southeastern University and thereafter completed his family medicine residency at AdventHealth East Orlando, capping his tenure as Chief Resident. Dr. McCann has substantial experience in outpatient primary care settings where he is proficient in providing everything from in-office X-rays to laceration repair, simple surgical procedures, splinting, and treatment for acute and chronic conditions. His volunteering work includes his current service as associate medical director for the Shepherd’s Hope clinic as well as a medical mission to Peru where he helped care for more than a thousand patients in the Amazon Jungle.
