Dave Porter joined the EDC as Senior Vice Business Development team to aggressively attract, retain and grow jobs in Orlando.
Prior to joining the EDC, Dave worked at the Austin Chamber of Commerce for 10 years. As senior vice president of economic development, Dave led Opportunity Austin, an eleven year effort to grow and diversify the regional economy. He also oversaw business attraction, business retention and research while managing an annual budget of more than $2 million.
Dave has also directed programs at the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce, Kansas Department of Commerce, North Carolina Global Transpark Authority and Wichita/Sedgwick County Partnership for Growth, Inc.
With over 30 years of executive management experience in economic development, Dave has received acknowledgment for his work including the 2000 Governor?s Award for Economic Development and being named ?Ten People Who Made a Difference in the South.?
Dave is a member of the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) and through this organization he earned his Certified Economic Developer accreditation in 1994, one of the highest benchmarks of professional competence a practicing economic developer can attain.
