Join us for our annual Legislative Recap Breakfast, where we break down the most impactful decisions made during this year’s legislative session—and what they mean for our community, businesses, and beyond.

This event brings together leading voices from both sides of the aisle to provide a balanced and insightful overview of recent legislative actions. You’ll hear from prominent Republican and Democrat panelists as they explain the motivations, implications, and expected outcomes of key bills that passed during the session.

Ybeth Bruzual is the morning news anchor at Spectrum News 13 in Orlando, where she has served since 1998. A two-time Emmy Award-winning journalist, Ybeth is known for her compelling storytelling, deep community ties, and impactful coverage of major events including the Pulse vigil and Hurricane Maria recovery efforts.
 
A graduate of the University of Central Florida, Ybeth brings over two decades of experience and a strong connection to Central Florida’s Latino community. Originally from Puerto Rico, she moved to Orlando as a child and is passionate about informing and empowering local audiences.
 
Outside of the newsroom, she’s a proud mom, avid cyclist, and foodie who loves exploring Florida’s trails, theme parks, and restaurants with her family.

Chris is a Florida state lobbyist and attorney admitted to practice in all Florida state courts. He has substantial experience handling government relations matters, including representation before the Florida legislative and executive branches, purchasing and procurement appeals, and professional licensing. Chris's clients range from small cities to Fortune 500 companies, and his experience runs the gamut of state-level needs and issues, from the passing of landmark legislation to proficiency on the appropriations process.

Chris also practices in litigation, land use, construction, and sports law. His practice includes obtaining state and local government regulatory approvals as well as matters related to the acquisition, development, and utilization of real property. He has represented contractors, engineers, architects, developers, owners, subcontractors, and suppliers in issues relating to land use and construction law. Chris provides legal work to the Central Florida Sports Commission and has handled numerous high-level sports matters at the legislative level, including tax exemptions, workers' compensation and other matters that affect sports franchises. 

 


Jason Garcia is one of Florida’s leading investigative journalists and the publisher of “Seeking Rents,” an independent newsletter about Florida politics, with a particular focus on how special interests influence public policy in the nation’s third-largest state. Garcia previously worked for the Orlando Sentinel, where he wrote an award-winning series on corporate-tax avoidance and led a yearlong investigation into a “ghost candidate” election scandal that exposed the roles of consultants for utility giant Florida Power & Light in political schemes around the state. He previously covered the Walt Disney Co. and the global theme-park industry and worked as a staff writer at Florida Trend magazine. Garcia is originally from Toronto.
