Representative Tom Goodson
Representative Goodson is a native Floridian that moved from the Panhandle to Central Florida when he was a young boy. He graduated from FSU, married Evelyn Goodson and settled in Cocoa, Florida. Representative Goodson is a road contractor by trade and has served as Chairman for Canaveral Port Authority for 3 terms. He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2010 and is currently in his second term.
Representative Joe Saunders
In November of 2012 Representative Joe Saunders made history when he was elected to serve Florida House District 49, the “UCF Seat”, in the Florida legislature and became the first openly gay state legislator to take the oath of office in Florida’s history. A graduate of the University of Central Florida’s Political Science, Women’s Studies and Legal Studies programs, Joe began his work as a community organizer on campus.
He is one of Central Florida’s most respected leaders in equal opportunity, local policy advocacy, inclusion and diversity, and arts education. He has held leadership roles with the Orange County Democratic Executive Committee, Planned Parenthood of Greater Orlando, the Osceola Arts for a Complete Education Coalition, the Central Florida Disability Chamber of Commerce and is a longtime chaperone of the Gateway High School Drama Club.
