Name: Intro to Individual Tax Preparation (Form 1040) – Bilingual Training Opportunity
Date: November 8, 2025
Time: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM EST
Event Description:

Are you interested in understanding how personal tax returns work — or exploring tax preparation as a service you can offer to others? We are hosting an in-person, bilingual (English & Spanish) training designed for beginners who want real, practical skills and a path to start offering paid tax preparation.

Here’s what’s included:

  1. Understanding the 1040 (Step 1 – covered in this course)
Over two Saturdays, you’ll learn the fundamentals of the individual tax return (Form 1040), how to organize client information, and how to walk through a basic personal tax return step by step.
You’ll also work through a real practice scenario using tax software, so you see how a return is actually built — not just theory.
We will also have a sales expert in the room teaching you how to present yourself professionally, how to communicate your value, how to talk to potential clients, and how to sell tax preparation services in a clear, ethical, and confident way.

  2. Getting your PTIN
After the training, we’ll guide you on how to apply for your IRS PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number), which is required for anyone who wants to get paid to prepare tax returns.

  3. Getting your EFIN
If you want to electronically file returns for clients as a business, you’ll eventually need an EFIN (Electronic Filing Identification Number) for your practice. We’ll explain that process as well — what the IRS looks for, timelines, and how to plan ahead.

Support after the class
All participants will be invited to a private WhatsApp group/community with CPAs, Enrolled Agents, and other tax professionals. You’ll be able to ask questions as you move forward, get support while you set up PTIN/EFIN, get guidance on software, data security best practices, pricing, and how to onboard your first clients.
