Keynote Speaker: Gerry Griffin, Apollo Flight Director
About the Event: The Innovators Week & Gala brings together young, exceptional minds in STEM, corporations who are making an impact within STEM industries, and some of America’s pioneering astronauts. Join us as we welcome, celebrate, and award the new class of Astronaut Scholars and announce the recipient of the Neil ArmstrongTM Award of Excellence. ASF grants this award to a former Astronaut Scholar who exemplifies a level of personal character, professional achievement, and impact in his/her field that mirrors that of the legendary Apollo 11 astronaut.
"Our Astronaut Scholars are among the most innovative men and women in the fields of science and engineering. Dad believed very deeply in the value of a strong education coupled with hard work, so I have no doubt that he would be enthusiastic about the chance to to recognize someone who not only shares those values but has gone on to achieve something amazing with the opportunity." - Rick Armstrong son of the late Neil ArmstrongTM, ASF Board of Directors
Prior to the gala, attend the Astronaut Scholar Technical Conference and hear from several Astronaut Scholars as they showcase their accomplishments in their fields of study and work. This conference perfectly illustrates the power of ASF’s mission – to aid the United States in retaining its world leadership in science and technology by providing college scholarships for the very best and brightest students pursuing science, technology, engineering, or math degrees.
