Bio of:
Gordon O. Henry, Ph.D.

Dr. Henry earned a masters degree in industrial/organizational psychology in 1989 and a doctorate in behavior analysis in 1994, both from Western Michigan University.  While teaching in a master’s level human resource management program for American University in 1998, he earned his certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) from the Society for Human Resource Management.

As an educator, Dr. Henry has 28 years of experience serving as a professor and an administrator in psychology departments and business schools at a wide variety of colleges and universities in the Eastern and Southern United States.  As a consultant, he has worked with primarily small and medium-sized organizations in a wide variety of settings including municipal public works departments, plastic and metal-working factories, utility companies, and, most recently, police and fire departments.  A consistent theme across all of Dr. Henry’s work experience is the design and implementation of systems that use positive recognition, feedback, and rewards to encourage high levels of student and employee performance.

Dr. Henry is currently the lead faculty member responsible for the content and delivery of human resource management courses in the Integrated Business program which is housed in the College of Business Administration at the University of Central Florida.  In this capacity, Dr. Henry, along with the program director, is also responsible for developing and coordinating the internship experiences of students in the major.
