The Orlando CEO Soak is a "grown up" version of the Ice Bucket Challenge engaging corporate leadership to get soaked while raising money to benefit The ALS Association Florida Chapter. Orlando area executive leaders that commit to being a “Soakee” will raise awareness and funds for ALS patient care, research and advocacy – providing critical support to ALS families.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal, progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. People with ALS often lose their ability to walk, talk, use their arms, and eventually breathe. ALS is always fatal, typically within 2-5 years from diagnosis. This is why we are looking to assemble 25 civic-minded executives to raise funds and awareness all with an end goal of being soaked in a fountain! Are you ready to be 1 of 25 executives to join the Orlando CEO Soak campaign? Follow the steps outlined below. Soakees commit to:
Engaging company employees in fundraising and awareness efforts
Raising awareness through personal and company social media networks
Fundraising a suggested minimum of $2,500 through personal and professional networks
Being soaked in work day attire!
Step 1: Register Register at web.alsa.org/CEOSoakOrlandoto receive your personal fundraising page. You can register as an individual or as a team. When registering as a team, you can recruit others to register and help your fundraising efforts.
Step 2: Fundraise Read the CEO Soak Welcome Packet for fundraising ideas, sample emails, and ALS facts. We provide you resources so you can easily explain the positive impact your fundraising has on the ALS community.Proven tips for success: Make a self-donation, Send emails to your network and/or staff asking them to help you hit your goal, plus share your progress on social media for more exposure!
Step 3: Get Soaked Wear your work day attire and plan to be soaked with other like-minded individuals. Mark your calendars for Thursday, June 24th at 6:00pm at the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens and get ready to get soaked in their splash pad!
